Everest Base Camp Trek

EVEREST TREKKING : Everest Base Camp Trek

A classic journey to the Everest Base Camp and Kalapathar - tinged with the romance and thrill of being so close to the highest peak.

Everest base camp trek conjures up images of great challenge and achievement - tinged with the romance and thrill of being so close to the Everest. It offers incredible mountain profile and wonderful insight into the way of hard Sherpa life. Justifiably this Everest base camp and Kalapathar trekking is one of the most popular treks in Nepal, famous, not only for its proximity to Mount Everest, but also for it's friendly Sherpa people, picturesque villages, diverse ethno-cultures, colourful festivals and monasteries.
We stay in lodges under the shadow of the Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and Thamaserku peaks in our journey to Everest base camp and Kalapathar; selected among the world's top 20 classic Journeys of Lifetime by the Observer, UK. We enjoy good food and traditional Sherpa hospitality. With time for acclimatization rest days on the way up we walk on relaxed pace below the incredible snow capped peaks, through the beautiful forest and Himalayan Sherpa settlements.

We explore the sights and sounds of Katmandu's wonder: World Heritage Sites: Buddhist shrine 'Bhaudhanath' and Hindu temple 'Pashupatinath' (to witness the Hindu public cremation on the bank of holy Bagmati river) before taking an exciting mountain flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Nepal Everest region trekking. On the way to Everest base camp we follow the Dudh Koshi valley to Namche, the Sherpa"capital" nestled in a horse shoe bowl, with it's colourful and bustling market with traders from local villages and as far away as Tibet. The alpine scenery becomes more rugged as we trek above the tree line to reach Dingboche for further acclimatision and exploration. Following the Khumbu glacier moraines we head to Gorak Shep via Lobuche. We trek the summit of Kalapathar (5445m), the best vantage point on earth for the stunning views of 360-degree Himalayas panorama including the world's highest peak Mount Everest in our adventure holiday Everest base camp trip.
